It is our hope that our conference will allow you to explore deeper content, make cross-sector connections, and gain perspectives on how to maximize connections within your community. This year’s theme is Where do We Grow from Here? Reflections on COVID, Recovery & Rebuilding. The workshops cover a multitude of topics and themes including Post-Pandemic Supports, Race & Equity, Diversity & Inclusion, and Social-Emotional Learning. We hope that they will support the impactful and intentional work that you are already doing and will ignite new energy and ideas for future work.

COVID -19 has once again helped with our decision to keep the conference virtual AND free. We know that folks have staffing and parenting challenges, and we wanted to be as inclusive as possible — so no worries about classroom coverage, ratios, or getting the kids to the sitter on time. Grab your favorite breakfast and beverage, find a comfy spot, and settle in for some lively learning!

The Childhood Conversations Conference started in 2007 to provide parents with the same access to professional development and speakers that educators, child advocates, social service professionals receive at annual conferences. Our first conference was held that April and brought in 84 parents and some professionals. In our first year, we had already outgrown the hotel space, however we had captured the vision of giving parents a day of pampering and access to cutting edge knowledge through impactful keynote speakers and workshops.

Throughout the years since the first conference, we have used our evaluations to drive the planning process for the next year and have brought in between 200 and 250 people from 1/3 of the towns across Connecticut. The partnerships have grown from the original three agencies to sixteen agencies spanning multiple disciplines. We have also expanded our audience to include professionals in the early childhood, social work, and education sectors while at the same time maintaining our parent base.

This year we are excited to be offering our conference virtually and for free to those interested! REGISTRATION for the 2022 joint Childhood Conversations and Together We Will be available after February 21, 2022. The 2022 conference registration deadline is March 31st, 2022.
