A Day of Everyday Heroes
On Saturday November 2, 2019 the Connecticut After School Network held its Annual After School Fall Conference. The theme this year was Everyday Heroes: Empower, Engage, Enrich.
The day started with Deputy Director Cheryl Sharp of the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities (CHRO) speaking to the after school and early childhood professional in attendance. The mission of the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities (CHRO) is to eliminate discrimination through civil and human rights law enforcement and to establish equal opportunity and justice for all persons within the state through advocacy and education.
Participants dressed like Mr. Rogers as they attended three workshops, visited multiple vendors, and enjoyed a delicious breakfast and lunch. A lucky attendee even won a door prize! It was a wonderful day of learning and enlightenment!
