The Build Stronger Child Care Policy Roadmap

A very important paper was released earlier this month by the Alliance for Early Success, that because of the pandemic, has even more impact now, as we witness first hand the crucial need and importance for access to to an early education and child care system that is stronger and more sustainable. What we are seeing is a direct result of poor public policy and poor investment choices leading up to COVID-19.
Over the course of four months, the Alliance for Early Success convened a Build Stronger Child Care Policy Workgroup – comprised of state and national allies, who drafted the Build Stronger Child Care Policy Roadmap.
By thinking boldly and innovatively, they set forth a plan that can transform child care in America. The Build Stronger Child Care Policy Roadmap is a path to the future—one that does not return us to the pre-pandemic status quo, but builds a stronger system, and by extension, the economy.
The Build Stronger Child Care Policy Roadmap is built on a foundation of equity and quality. And explores four key aspects of building up the early care system, all are of equal high priority according to state policy advocates and leaders:
a. Access and affordability
b. ECE Profession
c. Finance
d. Business Models

We hope you will read and share the Build Stronger Child Care Policy Roadmap. Many thanks to all the state advocates and national experts for creating this wonderful tool for advocating in our own communities for a post-pandemic child care system that strengthens families and providers in a more sustainable, equitable, and high quality child care system.
