On Wednesday December 11, 2019 the Bristol Early Childhood Alliance, in collaboration with the Bristol Public Library, School Readiness “Bristol Babies Bridge to Literacy” committee members, Scouts BSA Troop 1425, the United Way of West Central Connecticut, and the Bristol Walmart, hosted an incredibly successful Polar Express Holiday Event.

Nearly two hundred children, caregivers, and parents gathered at the Bristol Public Library for a evening full of story telling, singing, crafts, and a chance to visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus and Frosty the Snowman! There was hot chocolate and sugar cookies to enjoy and each family received an Appetite for Reading book, candy cane, and a holiday bell! Ms. Alex, the Children’s Librarian did an excellent job reading stories to the children, including of course, “The Polar Express.”

The event even had the Conductor to invite the children to the North Pole! Scouts helped to serve refreshments, and facilitate the craft tables, while Donna Koser and others helped with the line to visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus. What a wonderful way to celebrate children and families, community, and the Holiday Spirit!
